Al-Furqan Part-Time School

Our Mission

Al-Furqan Part-time School started in Ottawa in early 2003, with nearly 200 students, ending with 165 students at the end of the school year. In 2004, the school started with 300 students, and it currently sustains more than 500 students in three different locations After Abraar & West 1 program at Abraar Elementary School (70 Fieldrow St),  West 2 program at 5870 Abbott St E, Stittsville, and  the East program at St. Patrick’s High School (2525 Alta Vista Dr). Al-Furqan School is one of the institutions run by the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), working within the association’s overall plan and methodology, and adheres to its principles, regulations and instructions.

In 2004, the school was officially registered and a school board was formed. This school board energetically took responsibility for the school, with the goal of improving and following up with all aspects of the school.

Our classes on the weekdays in evenings from 6 PM to 8 PM, students are currently ages 4 to 16 years (Children, youth) and adult’s classes +16 with diverse Arabic and Non-Arabic home language backgrounds.

Levels 1 to 3 focus on Al-Nooraniya (learning how to read Quran perfectly with Arabic plus memorizing Juza 30.

Levels 4 to 6 focus on Tajweed and memorization (In these levels students memorize the last 4 parts of the Quran (Juzu’s 29, 28, 27, 26).

Levels 7, 8 ,9 and 10 are advanced memorization of Surah Al-Baqarah, Al-Imran, An-Nisaa, and focus on reading proficiency with Tajweed & Tarteel, correct the recitation and working on memorizing the last 5 Juza from the holy Quran and the whole Quran for whoever interested in Level 10.

Level 7 to memorization of Surah Al-Baqarah.

Level 8 to memorization of Surah l-Imran and Surah An-Nisaa.

Level 9 to memorization of Surah Al-Kahf.

Level 10 to memorization and revision of any parts from the holy Quran.
