Middle School Program (Grade 7 & 8)

Our Middle School program is modelled on the Ontario Ministry of Education mandated program, taught to Middle School children in public and private schools throughout the province. We follow closely the guidelines of the Ontario Ministry of Education and deliver the exact same curriculum that all middle schools within the province of Ontario must deliver. We also use learning materials, including textbooks, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Ontario Ministry of Education. So our students are taking the same courses and learning the exact same subjects that their peers in public and private schools across Ontario.

In addition to the Ontario Ministry of Education mandated curriculum, we deliver an Islamic education program that provides the students with a strong grounding in their faith. This additional program consists of courses in Qur’an, the Arabic language and Islamic Studies. The Qur’an classes focus on recitation and memorization of selected surahs. Surahs our Qur’an teachers often select for memorization include Surah Yasin and Surah al-Kahf, both of which are among the most recited surahs by Muslims throughout the world. Students are encouraged to go at their own pace, but always show a strong commitment to have their share of a regular recitation and memorization the Noble Qur’an. We host an annual Qur’an competition, open to both Middle and High School students, with special prizes for the winners. We also have a strong commitment to teaching Arabic, the language of the Qur’an. Our Arabic program has two streams: one for the speakers of Arabic and another for non-Arabic speakers. This allows Arabic-speaking students to deepen the knowledge for their mother tongue and also stay in touch with it. The non-Arabic speaking students, on the other hand, get an exposure to Arabic and, hopefully, develop an appreciation and love for learning the language of the Qur’an. What makes Abraar unique is that first rate academic education – based on the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum – is delivered in a protective and nurturing environment, with an added Islamic program that strengthens the students’ knowledge and faith.
