Our History
Abraar Secondary School is a unique private, full-time Islamic school registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education. We are proud of the academic program that we put together for the personal growth and educational development of our students, grades 7 to 12. Our academic program includes a wide range of courses, offering choice and catering to the needs of individual students in pursuing their educational goals.
Conscious of their responsibility as the educators of the next generation, the management and members of the teaching staff are fully committed to academic excellence and continuously strive for delivering a first-rate education in conducive learning environment.
Being educated in a safe and nurturing environment, our students develop a strong sense of self-identity, rooted in the enduring values of our faith.
With strong grounding in their faith and a solid academic education, our students are ready, upon graduation, to engage with the world in a constructive
manner and meet the challenges of the future with confidence.
Our Philosphy
Abraar Secondary School is committed to a holistic approach to learning and development where the principles of submission to Allah (SWT), as well as the essential elements in achieving human excellence, are instilled in our students starting at the earliest stages. The goal is to preserve the Muslim character and to develop spirituality, build self-worth, self-discipline, self-actualization, independence, ethical and moral values, love of learning, acquiring knowledge and service.

Abraar Secondary School Schools is located
- at 1085 Grenon Avenue, Ottawa, ON
- at the heart of Nepean, with Ottawa Public Transit on site and the 417 on the other side.
- right beside the Ron Kolbus Clubhouse is BGC and the school maintains a partnership to use the club’s pool for swimming and GYM for physical education classes.

At Abraar Secondary School, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of Muslim leaders. In today’s world, we understand the importance of providing an environment where students can thrive academically while being deeply rooted in their Islamic faith. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive education that integrates Islamic values, teachings, and practices, allowing students to become well-rounded individuals excelling both academically and spiritually.
Abraar Secondary School, an initiative of the Muslim Association of Canada, serves grades 7 through 12 and is located in Ottawa. Our school aims to provide a nurturing environment where students can grow intellectually, supported by an Islamic ethos. We believe in fostering a love for learning, respect for Islamic principles, and a sense of responsibility to the wider community.
One of our key strengths is our dedicated team of educators who bring academic expertise and a genuine passion for teaching in an Islamic environment. Our small class sizes allow for a personalized approach to education, ensuring each student receives the attention they need to achieve their full potential. We are proud of our rigorous academic programs, which are complemented by a strong focus on the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah. Our Arabic language courses, Quran memorization program, and daily prayer services are essential components of the school experience that instill a love for the faith and lifelong worship habits.
Abraar also strongly emphasizes extracurricular activities that promote healthy living, teamwork, and leadership skills. Our students are encouraged to pursue their passions and contribute positively to their communities through athletics programs and student-led initiatives.
I am deeply honoured to lead this vibrant community and committed to continuing the legacy of excellence. I am excited to work closely with our staff, parents, and students to continue improving our school. We will strive to create an environment where our children can excel in their studies, grow in their faith, and develop into confident, capable leaders.
