Preschool & Childcare
MAC Preschool and Childcare Program is a licensed daycare located in the Ottawa West-Nepean region. The daycare consists of two programs:
Toddler program: 18 Months to 30 Months
Preschool Program: 30 Months to 5 years old
The facility serves children from 18 months to five years of age using Arabic and English languages during the day. The daycare is open all year long between the hours of 7:30 am to 5:15 pm, Monday to Friday with the exception of statutory/civic and Eid holidays
Program Statement and Philosophy
At MAC Preschool and Childcare Centre, we provide an essential service for families that focuses on early learning and care, which allows for the optimal growth of children in all areas including social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.
Our emergent curriculum philosophy is one that builds upon the interests of children through discovery and investigation. Important areas such as Arabic, faith-based character and education, literacy, numeracy, and scientific inquiry are introduced and woven through all activities, learning domains, and activity centers.
At MAC Preschool and Childcare Centre, we believe each child in our program is competent, capable, curious, and rich in potential. We engage in child-initiated, educator-supported play-based learning and use the guidelines of How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (2014).
The four foundations of this document, which we practice in our program are Belonging, Well-Being, Engagement and Expression.
MAC Preschool and Childcare Centre hire qualified, responsive, and well-trained Registered Early Childhood Educators who support families in their role as primary caregivers and are understanding towards the needs of each child as an individual. They Plan and create positive learning environments and experiences in which each child’s learning and development will be supported. Documentation and a program plan are posted on our classroom bulletin board and on the ClassDojo app for families to see what is happening during their children’s time at the center.
All parents seeking childcare at MAC’s Preschool and Childcare Program must apply with the City of Ottawa’s Child Care Registry and Waitlist (CCRAW).

A $100.00 registration fee per child is due with the application as well as a “VOID” cheque for monthly automatic withdrawals. Please note, subsidy parents do not need to pay the daycare fee or the $100 registration fee however they need to contact their caseworker for the city of Ottawa for daycare fees.
Program Fees-
This fee is only applicable to non-subsidy parents.
MAC Preschool and Childcare is a proud member of the National (CWELCC) Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Program. All Full fee Parents with MAC Childcare are eligible for fee redaction
- 2023 fees: A 52.75% fee reduction for eligible children
- 2025-2026 fees: working towards an average fee of $10 per day per eligible child by the end of the fiscal year 2025-26.

Toddler Program 1 ½ yrs (18 months) – 2 ½ yrs (30 months) $ 401.62 monthly
Preschool Program 2 ½ yrs (30 months) – 5 yrs $373.27 monthly
Daily Fee for Preschoolers: $23.63/day (based on a set schedule)
Daily Fee for Toddlers: $25.68/day (based on a set schedule
