MAC KW 5th Annual Quran Contest Rules and Regulations

1. 1. Our MAC 5th Quran Memorization and Tajweed Contest 2024 will be held at MAC Maple Grove School located at 160 Courtland Ave E, Kitchener, ON N2G 3M6.
   2. All participants will recite in-person on March 30^th, 2024.
   3. All Participants are allowed to register in only one Quran contest category.
   4. The Huffaz Category is open for all participants 4 years and older.
   5. The standard registration fee of 30$ ends on March 25^th, 2024.
   6. Late registration fee is 40$.
   7. All fees are non-refundable.

Quran Contest Categories

1. Standard Category (By Grade Level):
   • JK: Al-Fatihah and An-Nas
   • SK: Al-‘Asr, Al-Fil and Al-Ma’un
   • G1: Ash-Sharh, Az-Zalzalah and Al-Humazah
   • G2: Al-Qadr and Ash-Shams
   • G3: Al-Layl and Al-Balad
   • G4: Al-Buruj and Al-Ghashiyah
   • G5: Al-Ghashiyah and Al-Inshiqaq
   • G6: Al-Naba and Al-Infitar
   • G7: Al-Nazi’at and Al-Mursalat
   • G8: Al-Muddaththir and Al-Qiyamah
   • G9: Al-Hujurat
   • G10: Qaf
   • G11: As-Sajdah
   • G12: Luqman
2. Huffaz Category:
   • Beginner: Juz’ Amma & Juz’ Tabarak
   • Intermediate: Al-Hashr, Al-Hijr, and Az-Zukhruf
   • Advanced:
     • Junior: An-Nur, Ghafir, and Al-Mu’minun
     • Senior: Complete 30 Juz’ (Holy Quran)
3. 18+ Category:
   • Al-Furqan

Khateeb Contest:

• Level 1- Brother (10-15)
• Level 2- Youth 16 +

The brothers will deliver a short Khutba to a panel of judges. Brothers will be judged on: Speech delivery, quality of content and presentation skills.
Khateeb guidelines and the names of Allah SWT’s meanings will be emailed to contestants, upon registration.

The Names of Allah SWT Contest:

• Level 1- Sisters/Brother (9-11)
• Level 2- Sisters/Brother (12-18)

Contestants will recite the names and will be judged on: Voice, fluency, and the memorization of the names of Allah SWT.
Level 2 contestants (12-18) will be asked about the meanings.
