About Rose City Elementary School

Rose City Elementary School is a new, distinctive addition to Ontario’s educational world. We think that by combining these instructional strategies, our students will stand out among their peers and be better equipped to succeed academically once they graduate. The Montessori and Reggio Emilia Approaches, as well as the Ontario Ministry of Education’s best practises, are all incorporated into Rose City Elementary School’s integrated educational program.

Philosophy of Montessori

The Montessori method is incorporated into our curriculum in the following ways:

1. Hands-on-Learning.

2. A classroom that is kid-friendly and makes it simple to explore different interests

3. Materials that are visual and self-correcting.

Reggio Emilia Approach

Integrating the Reggio Emilia Approach entails:

1. Use a variety of tools to record the development of the kids, including video, photos, tape recordings, work portfolios, and recorded dictations.

2. The curriculum in the classroom is based on the individual interests of the students.

3. It is believed that cooperation is essential to a child’s cognitive development. Teachers set up both big and small groups so that kids may collaborate to solve problems through discussion, comparison, negotiation, and other crucial interpersonal skills.
