The Evansdale Islamic School project will be a beacon of light for our future generations and as a community. It is our duty to strive to provide these services to them. We are in dire need of Islamic educational institutions to nurture our children. The demand for Islamic education has increased in great multitude. Education is the best sadaqah jariyah, or continuous charity, that can be supported as it builds the ummah by building strong individuals.
Our current fundraising goal is for the purchase price of $2.85 million for 3.05 acres of land and needs to be paid by February 16, 2023. Construction is planned to be completed by February 16, 2026.
The next step will be building design and planning which will determine construction costs. The land is already zoned for an elementary, junior high and potentially high school. The school will be home to hundreds of students. The project will help alleviate the various waiting lists in all our existing schools in Edmonton.

Within the established Dovercourt Community, 10 minutes away from our current school. Built in 1965, the 13,846 square foot building will feature 3 new classrooms, a Gymnasium with stage, STEAM Lab, Library, QAIS Lab, and portable. The surrounding area features a community league, 20 acres of greenspace, community garden, skate park, and spray park which students will have easy access to. There is easy pickup and drop off along 140th Street, as well as a parking lot located south of the building.
The school interior is inviting, accommodating, functional, and versatile. The washrooms are bright and easily maintained. The offices and classrooms are accessed through attractive functional wooden doors. The interior windows create an open and inviting environment. The common areas are well structured and have efficient amenities that cater to students and staff alike.
With this new building, we are now able to open an additional Grade 6 classroom at our current location, increase the number of students in our Grade 8 and 9 classrooms, and have the potential to open up additional Grade 7, 8, and 9 classrooms in the future, Inshallah.
