Olive Grove Preschool
Preschool and Toddler Program Waiting List Policy
On August 2, 2016 new legislation under the authority of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, section 75.1 was enacted. As of September 1, 2016 child care centres are no longer permitted to charge fees in order to place a child on a wait list for care.
As of September 1st, 2016 at Olive Grove Preschool all new Preschool/Toddler parents are required to register their child(ren) on our waiting list form on the olivegroveschool.ca website. This creates a time stamp with the date and collects personal information needed to sort their child. There is no fee associated with adding your child to our Preschool and Toddler Waiting lists. We accept children only between the ages of 18months and 4 years.
Parents may call or email the program Supervisor or OGS Elementary Administration for an update on their child’s status on our waiting lists. The waiting list data is confidential and is not shared with anyone other than the child’s parent or guardian listed on the waiting list spreadsheet.
All children that have been added prior to September 1, 2016 will remain on the list based on their current date of registration and move up to the Junior Kindergarten list with no additional fee as the OGS Elementary fee would of already been paid.
Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 Waiting List
If you are planning on having your child attend Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 at Olive Grove School you MUST add them to the OGS Online Registration waiting list with the JK or older start date selected and pay the non-refundable $50 waiting list fee. If you just add your child to the Preschool list and not to the JK and above list your child will not be sorted into the appropriate class list.
If a spot becomes available in the chosen year, the parent will be contacted to start the registration process. If the spot is rejected by the parent your child will be removed from the waiting list, losing their seniority. If your child does not gain acceptance into the grade you have chosen, he/she will move up on to the next age appropriate year.
